Status Quo

Everything's going great, rather uneventful. We went to the doctor on Jan 20th for our last visit with Dr. Mayer and the IVF crew. We saw both babies again, heard both heart beats, and one baby was even swimming around with its little paddle hands! It was very cute to see, still a very surreal feeling. I don't feel much different on the outside but to know that these little olive-sized babies are inside of me right now is a very crazy thought.

I've been trying to stay calm at work and not allow work stress to get to me. I need a happy and calm womb to make sure these babies don't feel stressed either. It's difficult, but Todd is so great at home and does so much. He lets me go to bed early and he plays with the dogs, he lets me sleep all day on Saturday and he folds the laundry, does house chores, cleans the house. He lets me sit on the most fabulous recliner ever and be lazy while he does the yard work. I shouldn't be so lazy but he makes it so easy :) I'm barely showing, not throwing up, not having any other crazy pregnancy things and he's this good...lets hope it lasts!!

We also go look at baby stuff nearly ever weekend. We've gone to the typical baby stores- Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby, and Target. We found a great stroller that we will look more into; we decided to look into the dual strollers that are in-line, not next to each other to make sure we don't have problems fitting through doorways. Double strollers are huge to push around, it takes a lot of momentum to make a turn and that's with an empty stroller! All of the double strollers take infant carriers as well so the duo stroller can last through all of their stages which is great. We also like the infant carriers that have the ergonomic handles, not the straight handle. I don't know why all manufacturers don't make the handles "z" shaped, it allows you to carry the baby so much more naturally!

We also went to IKEA to look for basic baby furniture and cribs. There is a huge spectrum of cribs and changing tables - since there will be two of them I dont think we'll be looking at anything fancy. I have been trying to think of baby nursery themes as well - I like the idea of a farm, a beach, winnie the pooh, or just a color/pattern scheme. As of today we are still planning to have surprise genders so we would need a gender neutral theme for everything!
